As part of its responsibilities as set out in the Approval of Programs of Study Regulation, Council monitors degree programs to ensure that its standards of quality continue to be met. Monitoring may take several forms including annual reporting, comprehensive evaluations, subsequent evaluations and periodic reporting. Information on the forms of evaluations, their purpose and the relevant procedures is contained in Council’s document which is available at: Monitoring of Approved Degree Programs.

Comprehensive Evaluations

Council will normally conduct at least one comprehensive evaluation (a combined organizational and program(s) evaluation) of an institution five years after it begins offering its first approved degree programs.

A guide for comprehensive evaluation teams is posted on the Documents and Forms page. This document will also be of interest to institutions undergoing or preparing to undergo comprehensive evaluations.
