Upholding Standards

After programs have been reviewed and approved, CAQC continues to monitor the quality of degree programs to ensure they uphold Alberta's standards for quality.

As part of its responsibilities as set out in the Programs of Study Regulation (91/2009), Council monitors degree programs to ensure that its standards of quality continue to be met. CAQC’s monitoring may take several forms including:

  • Annual reporting
  • Results of institutional cyclical program reviews
  • Comprehensive evaluations
  • Audits
  • Subsequent evaluations
  • Periodic reporting
